At Centroamérica Tours (centroamericatours.com) we take our readers’ privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and what rights you have over it.
1. Data controller
The controller of your data is Divergentes Media S.A.S. de C.V., the company that publishes Centroamérica Tours (centroamericatours.com), registered at Calle Sacramento, Parcelación California #35, Pol. O, Colón, La Libertad, El Salvador. You can reach us at info@centroamericatours.com for any question relating to privacy.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Email: your address and the contents of your message when you write to us.
- Comments: name, email address and the comment itself, if you comment on an article.
- Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
Information collected automatically
- Browsing data: IP address, browser type, pages visited and time spent on them.
- Cookies: small files that improve your experience (see our Cookie policy).
- Analytics: aggregate information about how the site is used, through Google Analytics.
3. How we use your information
- To answer your questions and comments.
- To send you our newsletter, if you subscribed.
- To improve the content and the experience of the site.
- To analyse traffic and reader behaviour in aggregate.
- To meet our legal obligations.
4. Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of your consent (forms, cookies), the performance of a service (answering your enquiry) and our legitimate interest (analysing and improving the site).
5. Sharing information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers: hosting, email delivery and analytics, under confidentiality agreements.
- Authorities: where the law requires it.
6. Your rights
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Have your data erased.
- Object to processing in certain cases.
- Receive your data in a structured format.
- Restrict processing in certain cases.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, write to info@centroamericatours.com.
If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the data protection authority where you live. In the EU that is your member state’s authority; in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
7. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss or alteration.
8. How long we keep data
We keep each type of data only as long as it is needed:
- Contact messages: for the duration of the enquiry and the period needed to handle any later claim
- Comments: while the article remains published, or until you ask us to remove them
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe
- Analytics data: the retention period set in Google Analytics, which Google applies automatically
You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
9. International data transfers
Some of the services we use are outside the European Economic Area. In particular, Google Analytics processes data on servers in the United States. Google states that it relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission as safeguards for those transfers.
That transfer only happens if you accept analytics cookies. Until you do, Google Analytics runs with storage switched off: it writes no cookies and stores no identifiers on your device.
10. Automated decisions and profiling
We do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you, and we do not profile you. Usage statistics are handled in aggregate.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any change will be published on this page with its date.
